These terms apply to djzrex.com and to the beats, licenses, and services offered through it. By using the site or buying from it, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
The site is operated by Ozzy Productions LLC, doing business as DJ Z-Rex, in Brooklyn, New York.
Beat licenses
Beats are licensed, not sold outright. Every non-exclusive license leaves ownership of the composition with the producer and grants you a defined right to use the recording.
The license agreement issued to you by BeatStars at checkout is the binding contract. The license cards and FAQ on the beats page are a plain-English summary written to help you choose the right tier. If anything in that summary ever conflicts with the contract you actually receive, the contract controls. Read it before you release a record.
Each tier sets its own limits on paid downloads, monetized streams, music videos, radio play, and term length. Those limits are listed on the beats page. Exceeding them means you need to upgrade to a higher tier.
Producer credit
Every license, including the exclusive tier, requires that you credit the production as "Produced by DJ Z-Rex" in the track title, description, or credits wherever the record is released.
Free beats and tagged previews
Beats offered as free downloads, and the tagged previews in the store player, are for evaluation and non-commercial use only. A free download does not grant you a license. You may not monetize, distribute for sale, register, or commercially release a track built on a free or tagged beat unless you purchase a license for it. If you are unsure whether what you are planning needs a license, ask us before you release.
Content ID and rights registration
You may not register a track built on a non-exclusive license with YouTube Content ID or any other content identification, royalty collection, or rights management system that would claim ownership of the underlying composition. Doing so affects every other artist licensing the same beat.
Custom beats, mixing and mastering, and DJ services
Services are quoted individually. When you submit an inquiry we will respond with scope, price, and timeline. Work begins once that scope is agreed and any required deposit is paid.
- Revisions. The number of revision rounds included is stated on the relevant service page and in your quote. Additional rounds can be arranged at an agreed rate.
- Timelines. Delivery estimates are made in good faith and depend on you supplying files, references, and feedback promptly. They are estimates, not guarantees.
- Your material. You confirm that any stems, vocals, samples, or other material you send us are yours to use, or that you have cleared them. We are not responsible for clearing third-party samples in material you supply.
- Custom beats. Ownership and license terms for custom work are set out in the agreement for that project, which may differ from the store license tiers.
Site content
The text, images, audio, logos, and design on this site belong to Ozzy Productions LLC unless stated otherwise. You may not copy or reuse them commercially without permission. Blog posts may be quoted with attribution and a link.
Acceptable use
Do not attempt to disrupt the site, scrape it at volume, misrepresent your identity in a form, or use the site to infringe anyone's rights.
Third-party services
Checkout, streaming, and some embedded content are provided by third parties such as BeatStars, YouTube, and Spotify. Their terms apply to their part of the transaction, and we are not responsible for their availability or conduct.
Disclaimer
The site and its content are provided "as is." We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted or error-free. Nothing on this site is a guarantee of any commercial, chart, streaming, or career outcome, and nothing on it is legal advice.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of your use of the site or any purchase is limited to the amount you paid for the beat, license, or service the claim relates to. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost profits or lost royalties.
Indemnity
You agree to hold us harmless from claims arising out of your use of a beat or service in breach of your license, or out of material you supplied to us that infringed someone else's rights.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York. Note that the license agreement you receive from BeatStars sets its own governing law based on your location at purchase, and that agreement controls the license itself.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
